PA Housing’s deputy chief executive and chief operating officer Matt Cooney is to leave the housing provider after nine years.
Mr Cooney joined LHA-ASRA (known as Asra) housing association as group chief executive in 2010 prior to its merger with Paragon Housing in April 2017.
After the merger Mr Cooney took on the roles of chief operating officer and deputy chief executive for the newly merged group. In his role as chief operating officer, Mr Cooney ensured that the integration of the two associations progressed smoothly, and that the new group delivered the promised outcomes that were approved by the regulator and PA Housing’s board.
Commenting on his departure, Mr Cooney said: “I am really proud of what PA Housing has achieved over the past two years and it now feels like ‘one organisation’.
“Everywhere I look I can see our people preparing for the future with confidence and I feel that we are in really good shape. I feel proud to have been part of the formation of PA Housing and I am confident that the organisation will provide great services to customers and be at the forefront of new housing supply for years to come.”
Dilip Kavi, chief executive of PA Housing, said: “Matt has done an outstanding job in integrating the two businesses, and PA Housing’s success is largely due to his dedication and abundance of energy to complete the work one year ahead than planned. I am indebted to Matt for working with me in recent years to create and turn PA into a successful organisation that is on the road to provide brilliant services to our customers.
“Matt’s excellent skills and talents in managing change have been invaluable to us in our formative stage. Along with PA board members and the rest of the executive team I wish him the very best for the future.”
