Peabody has appointed Eamonn Hughes as its new chief financial officer.
Mr Hughes had been serving as interim chief financial officer since 3 February 2020 and has now been handed the role on a permanent basis.
He took over the role from Susan Hickey, who spent 10 years at the 66,000-home association.
Mr Hughes previously worked for Berkeley and KPMG before joining Peabody as finance director, development and regeneration in November 2018.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Hughes said: “My priority will be to ensure we’re in a position to keep investing and meeting the challenges in society and the economy head-on.
“We’re committed to improving our existing homes and places, modernising services for residents, building new genuinely affordable homes, and helping others grow and succeed though our community foundation.”
Brendan Sarsfield, chief executive of Peabody, said: “Eamonn has been an integral part of the executive team during this period of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and has quickly built the trust of his colleagues and the board.
“We cannot achieve our objectives without strong financial leadership, and his appointment will help us protect and support our residents, staff and communities going forward.”
Peabody recently published a white paper with partners to improve environmental, social and governance reporting with UK social housing.
