Pocket Living has poached One Housing’s finance boss to replace the London developer’s co-founder.
Paul Rickard, who has spent two and a half years as chief financial officer at One Housing, will take up the same role at the compact home specialist from next January.
He will replace Paul Harbard, co-founder of Pocket Living, who is retiring as the group’s finance director. Mr Harbard, who launched Pocket Living with Marc Vlessing in 2005, will retain a non-executive role on the company’s board.
Pocket Living specialises in developing one and two-bedroom apartments for first-time buyers in London. Last year, it bagged nearly £60m of public money to help it build more than 1,000 affordable homes in London.
Mr Rickard, who worked as finance director at Circle and Paragon Community Housing prior to One Housing, said: “I am excited to be part of the next stage in Pocket’s growth and to help continue and expand the vision established so effectively by Paul and Marc.”
Mr Vlessing, chief executive of Pocket Living, said Mr Rickard would bring “fresh perspective and new energy into the management team”.
He added: “Paul brings a wealth of experience from the housing association and private sectors and will, I am sure, be instrumental in taking Pocket to the next level in the decade ahead.”
In July, it emerged Pocket Living had partnered with housing association Optivo on a 153-home scheme in Croydon, exclusively for shared ownership and below market sale.
