At least 50 housing associations are receiving funding as part of the first wave of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund #UKhousing

Inside Housing has compiled a list of housing associations (see table below) which are working with local authorities to deliver the £179m retrofit scheme.

Housing associations were not allowed to bid directly to the first wave of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, but could access funding if they entered a joint bid with a local authority.

Earlier this month, the government revealed a list of the 69 local authorities that will receive funding to improve the energy efficiency of social homes with an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating below C.

Inside Housing asked these councils to provide the names of the housing associations they are working with as part of their bid.

Of the 32 local authorities that responded, 19 were working with one or more housing associations to deliver their funding.

According to the government, the first wave of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund will upgrade the energy efficiency of roughly 20,000 social homes.

A second wave of the fund, which housing associations will be able to bid directly, is due to be launched this year and will be worth £800m across three years.
