Top story: NHF development survey: housing association market sale starts halve in 12-month period
The number of market sale properties started by housing associations in the second quarter of 2019/20 is down 46% on the same period in 2018/19, data from the National Federation of Housing shows.
A total of 888 homes for market sale were started between July and September last year, compared with 1,647 between July and September in 2018.

One in four renters made ill by housing worries, survey reveals
Almost one in four private renters have felt physically ill or sick because of housing problems or worries in the past year, research by Shelter has revealed.
A study by the housing charity and YouGov found that housing worries, such as being able to afford the rent, poor conditions and the threat of eviction, have a detrimental effect on people’s physical and mental health.

A resident living in Lewisham, London, has been on the local waiting list for housing for 34 years, an investigation by News Shopper has revealed. A Freedom of Information request from the local democracy service showed that more than 2,000 people on the list for a permanent home in Lewisham have been waiting a decade or more.
Elsewhere, an Edinburgh councillor has warned that a new housing development approved last year could bring “traffic chaos” to an already under-pressure part of the city. The Edinburgh Evening News has more.
And the BBC has a story about emergency accommodation pods for homeless people which are set to be put in the grounds of a church in Caerphilly. The two units in St Helen’s Roman Catholic Church will have a bed, toilet, light, a key-coded door and be powered by solar panels.
