The consortium behind a £113m regeneration project for Manchester City Council has landed the top prize at Inside Housing’s annual Top 60 Developments awards.
The Brunswick regeneration scheme, which is being undertaken by a consortium made up of house builder Galliford Try, housing association Contour Homes, contractor Mears and investment firm Equitix, was named overall ‘winner of winners’ at a ceremony in London on Friday. The consortium also won in the regeneration project of the year category for Brunswick.
Under the regeneration of Brunswick 514 new homes will be built and 650 refurbished. Of the 514 new homes, 140 will be for affordable rent and 314 for private sale, with a 60-bed extra care scheme also planned.
Awards judge Brian Ham, executive director of enterprise and development at Home Group, said: “This is a comprehensive scheme to cover all bases.”
