Vistry will deliver almost 300 homes in partnership with Bristol Council's housing company #UKhousing

A 100-bed independent living scheme will be delivered by Vistry Partnerships on behalf of Halton Housing in Chesire #UKhousing

The first deal was signed in partnership with Goram Homes, Bristol City Council’s housing company, and will see the pair deliver 268 new homes at Romney House in Bristol.

Vistry has also signed a deal with Halton Housing to deliver a 100-bed independent living scheme in Sandymoor, Runcorn.

Of the 268 homes to be delivered in Bristol, 55% will be affordable and will be delivered by the council. The homes will range from one-bed flats to four-bed family houses, with a mix of tenures including social rent and shared ownership.

Goram Homes was founded by Bristol Council in 2018 and has the ambition to deliver 2,500 home across the city by 2025.

Commenting on the deal, Craig Currie, managing director – west at Vistry Partnerships, said: “We’re proud of the reputation we’ve developed in Bristol for regenerating redundant land, transforming these places into high-quality new communities that provide genuine opportunities for local people to live in them.

“Romney House is no different. Working with Goram Homes we’re creating a new community with more than 140 affordable homes, alongside a new park which will greatly improve the quality of life for people living in and visiting the area.”

Steve Baker, managing director at Goram Homes, said: “Our vision for Bristol is high-quality, well-designed homes in great locations surrounded by amazing green spaces.

“Vistry Partnerships are the ideal partner to deliver our first development in Lockleaze with their strong record of regeneration and knowledge of the city.”

The Sandymoor scheme in Runcorn forms part of wider regeneration plans for the site, on which Vistry Partnerships is already scheduled to build 235 houses with Together Housing.

Under the latter agreement, Vistry and Together Housing will deliver a ranging size of homes that will for open market sale through Vistry Partnerships’ housebuilding arm, Linden Homes.

Paul Mullane, director of development and growth at Halton Housing, commented: “We’re delighted to see the building work begin on our long-awaited scheme at Sandymoor in Runcorn.

“Providing a good number of quality homes for those in later life, while also contributing to the wider community, is what attracted us to the development, as part of our mission to improving people’s lives.”

Vistry Partnerships was formed in January after Bovis Homes bought Galliford Try’s Linden Homes and Partnership & Regeneration businesses.

Since forming, the organisation, which aims to build 6,000 homes per year, has announced partnerships with a number of social landlords including Aster, Notting Hill Genesis and Newham Council.
