SNG confirms leadership reshuffle with new appointment to top investment role

Before joining SNG, Mr Marshall was the regional managing director at Peabody, where he was responsible for large-scale housing and regeneration programmes across London and the South East.

Mark Washer, chief executive at SNG, said Mr Marshall had “already made a significant impact” in the interim role and was “ideally placed to lead one of the most ambitious investment programmes in the sector”.

For his part, Mr Marshall said he was “proud to take on this role at such an important time for housing delivery”, while highlighting how SNG’s investment, regeneration and development teams were focused on “creating high-quality homes and thriving communities”.

The 85,000-home association has also confirmed that Ms Hyndman, who joined SNG five years ago, will retire at the end of June 2026.

She has led the organisation’s people and transformation strategy during a period of significant organisational change, including the 2023 merger of Sovereign and Network Homes that created SNG.

To ensure a smooth transition, Alexia Evans, currently investment and asset strategy director, will work alongside Ms Hyndman from April 2026, before stepping into the role after her retirement.

Ms Evans, who already sits on the executive board, has played a central role in shaping SNG’s investment and asset management strategy, with a particular focus on sustainability and sales.

Mr Washer said Ms Hyndman was “instrumental in helping to define who we are as an organisation”, describing her leadership as guided by “vision, compassion and integrity”.

He added that Ms Evans “brings deep experience in change and transformation” and will “build on the strong foundation Sally has created”.

Ms Hyndman said it was “a privilege to help shape SNG’s transformation and culture” over the past five years.

Ms Evans added that she was “delighted to be taking on the role” and looked forward to continuing the group’s “people and transformation journey”.
