Homes England has sold two sites to house builder Vistry Partnerships for the development of more than 900 homes.
The government’s housing agency has contracted Vistry to build 600 homes at a site near Kidderminster.
It will deliver the cross-tenure scheme as part of a joint venture with housing association Citizen Housing.
Vistry, one of the first major house builders to reopen sites in April during the coronavirus pandemic, has also agreed to build 335 homes on an 11-hectare site in Halton, which will include units for market sale and affordable housing.
Homes England said it has used grant from the Affordable Homes Programme to support the delivery of more affordable housing than is required by council planning policies at both sites.
The agency has also invested in infrastructure at the wider 50-hectare land at the Halton site, which has capacity for up 1,500 homes.
The new projects take the total number of homes Vistry is delivering on Homes England sites to more than 3,000.
Stephen Kinsella, chief land and development officer at Homes England, said the deals show the agency is continuing to support “ambitious partners” who want to build more homes.
He added: “While the housebuilding industry is facing a challenging time, it’s vital that we continue to work with partners to create development opportunities like this to help the sector recover.”
Stephen Teagle, chief executive of Vistry Partnerships, said: “Vistry Partnerships is absolutely committed to delivering quality homes to help support the UK economy as we begin our recovery, and we already have more than 5,000 people working safely on 74 contracting sites and 34 mixed-tenure sites across the UK.”
Vistry Partnerships is the partnership arm of Vistry Group, which was formed at the beginning of this year following Bovis Homes’ acquisition of Galliford Try’s Linden Homes and Partnerships & Regeneration businesses.
The partnership arm of the business recently set a target to build more than 6,000 homes per year and achieve revenues of £1.1bn.
