Women in Housing Awards winners revealed

“Women led the creation and progress of the housing sector, yet more than a century on they remain under-represented in key roles,” said Emma Maier, Inside Housing’s editor-in-chief.

“Recognising the achievements, ingenuity, creativity and passion of the outstanding women working in housing today is more important than ever.”

The women of the year awards went to Jo Boaden, chief executive of Northern Housing Consortium, and Emma Richman, director of assets at Great Places Housing Group, with Kerry Anthony from Depaul and Jennifer Travassos from Westminster City Council being highly commended.

Property maintenance firm Fortem was named employer of the year, for its commitment to encouraging and supporting women and promoting gender equality - while Ellie King, a gas engineer with Fortem, was recognised as one of this year’s young achievers, alongside Molly Downes, a quantity surveyor with Keepmoat homes. Another young achiever, Cyan Matthews of Homes in Sedgemoor, was highly commended.
