Former Sovereign interim finance boss joins 18,000-home Yorkshire Housing #ukhousing

The 18,000-home landlord has revealed that Guy Millichamp has stepped down and been replaced by Barry Nethercott, who was most recently interim finance director at Sovereign.

Mr Millichamp, whose responsibilities also included business planning, governance, risk and assurance, first joined Yorkshire Housing in 2001 and has spent the past five years as director of finance. It is unclear what his future plans are at this stage.

A statement on Yorkshire Housing’s website did not give a reason for his departure.

Nick Atkin, chief executive of Yorkshire Housing, said Mr Millichamp had been a “highly valued member of the team” and thanked him for his contribution.

In its last full-year, the Leeds-based association reported a surplus of £17.9m on a revenue of £113m.

Mr Nethercott, who joins Yorkshire Housing on Friday (March 20), has worked at a number of high-profile associations.

Early last year he took up the finance role on an interim basis at Sovereign, but left last autumn after the 58,000-home landlord found a permanent replacement.

Prior to that, he was permanent finance chief at G15 association Network Homes after initially being appointed on a temporary basis in 2014. Over the past 10 years, he also held senior roles at Southern Housing Group and The Guinness Partnership.

Before that, he had various senior management roles at the Royal Mail.

Yorkshire Housing said it has started looking for a permanent replace.
