LHA-ASRA chair to stand down

Shaukat Moledina is to leave his post as chair of the 11,000-home LHA-ASRA Group.

Mr Moledina will stand down on 9 September to spend more time on his business and other charitable activities.

He will be replaced by Sadru Visram, who is currently vice-chair of group and a long-serving board member.

Mr Visram said: ‘The board and executive are indebted to Shaukat for his achievements in helping to steer the group through a period of substantial change.

‘Under his stewardship, we have become more customer-focused, better managed, financially stronger and commercially more astute. 

‘I am looking forward to building on his achievements and further enhancing the services which matter most to our customers.’

Mr Visram has more than 30 years’ experience in the housing sector, is a board member of Notting Hill Housing Trust and is former finance director of London & Quadrant Housing Trust.

He runs Sprunt Solutions, which provides training and consultancy to the housing association sector and is a board member of The Housing Finance Corporation.

Mr Moledina is a board member of the Homes and Communities Agency, chair of a private investment trust supporting small and medium enterprises as well as a trustee and main board member of the charity Save the Children. He is vice president of United Response and was deputy chair of the Housing Corporation.

The LHA-ASRA Group is made up of LHA, ASRA Greater London HA, and Nottingham charity Family First.
