Racial discrimination in UK housing has a long history and deep roots, with studies of race and housing stretching back to the 1960s. The sector also falls woefully short in the proportion of BAME people in key leadership roles. So why in 2023 is such institutional racism still so prevalent?
During this panel, we discuss pressing questions including what actions social housing organisations are taking to address racism and disparities faced by both minority ethnic residents living in their communities, and staff working across their organisations. What more can be done to rectify these issues and ensure that tenant voices are truly heard? How can we ensure that discrimination in every aspect is abolished?
