Keynote on community empowerment

Thursday, 15 May 2025 10:00 - 10:45Broadgate
Speakers
Cormac Russell Cormac RussellTEDx speaker, author and founding directorNurture Development

Cormac Russell is an internationally-renowned thought leader, trainer and TEDx speaker on Asset Based Community Development (ABCD).

Asset Based Community Development recognises that the people that live and work in that community are the experts. It’s an approach that mobilizes individuals and institutions to come together to realise and develop their strengths. Instead of trying to right what’s wrong within a community, Cormac argues we need to start with what’s strong. It empowers communities by encouraging them to use what they already possess.

Over the last 25 years, Cormac’s work has demonstrated an enduring impact in 35 countries around the world. In this inspiring talk, learn how to create the conditions where any neighbourhood can identify and mobilise its assets to the benefit of the whole community.
