From 1 April, Festival Housing and Worcester Community Housing are to be known as Fortis Living. Both organisations will continue as members of the new group and together the social landlord will own more than 14,000 homes.

The housing providers, which operate across the counties of Worcestershire and Herefordshire, will have a turnover of around £75 million a year and be one of the largest landlords in the west midlands.

Guy Weston, group chief executive, said: ‘We are delighted to announce the creation of Fortis Living. As well as building financial strength and capacity, the merger will generate over £30 million in efficiency savings over a 10-year period. This will maximise the resources we can put back into homes and neighbourhoods to help improve quality of life, choice and opportunity for local people.’

Festival Property Care and the building maintenance service at WCH will be rebranded as Fortis Property Care and will carry out much of the group’s repairs and maintenance work.

Inside Housing reported in February that the two landlords were considering a three-way merger with Rooftop Housing.
