Palliser Road is a 100% affordable residential development in Barons Court, west London. It includes nine new family homes offered at London Living Rent and a mix of 27 one and two-bedroom apartments available via shared ownership, available solely to people living or working in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, all within a tenure-blind layout.

The scheme also includes a central courtyard and landscaped communal garden, where residents can relax, connect and enjoy nature. Thoughtfully placed seating areas, walking paths and informal play zones cater to a wide demographic – from young families to professionals and older residents – fostering a strong sense of community. Framed by shrub planting, wildflower borders and native trees, the space encourages biodiversity.

This is a development of significant importance in Southern Housing’s heritage. It is built on the site of the former Ada Lewis House, a historic residence established in the 1920s to house single women. Ada Lewis was the wife of Samuel Lewis, the founder of the Samuel Lewis Housing Trust, which became Southern Housing.

The judges said:

“A development that delivers high-quality, affordable shared ownership and London Living Rent homes. This scheme meets local housing needs and is rooted in social responsibility and historical context”
