Mr Morrow said: “After 13 years of forming and leading Red Kite, I have decided it’s time to retire. Over the years, we have built so many great partnerships and it’s been a privilege to meet and work with so many wonderful people. I know the great work will continue and expand.”

The landlord is now in the process of appointing an interim chief executive, with an aim to have someone step into the role next month.

In the meantime, Alan Keers, deputy group chief executive of Red Kite, will be deputising and supporting the continued running of the organisation.

Earlier this month, the landlord completed a stock transfer of more than 300 homes from Riverside.

Red Kite completed the purchase of 319 homes based on estates in Windsor and Maidenhead. The value of the deal was been disclosed.

The homes are made up of general needs houses and flats, and there is also an opportunity for Red Kite to develop some of the land.

At the time, Mr Morrow said: “The homes have been subject to a previous transfer from another housing association, so we want to ensure tenants feel confident they now have a long-term local landlord who wants to bring them into the heart of our community.”
