Mark Rennison, Olivia Scanlon, Sadie Morgan and Vanessa Murden are the new members of Homes England’s board, which has now increased in number from nine to 13.

Another board member, Richard Blakeway, is also the government’s preferred candidate to become Housing Ombudsman, meaning he might need to leave soon as well.

Simon Dudley, senior independent director at Homes England and leader of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, is currently deputising as chair.

Ms Scanlon, who is chief operating officer at Orchard Global Asset Management, said: “Homes England has an incredibly forward-looking, innovative approach to addressing the country’s affordable housing shortage and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to be involved.”

Mr Rennison, chief financial officer at Nationwide Building Society, said he was “delighted” to join the board.

Ms Morgan, a founding director of architectural practice dRMM, said: “As part of the board’s agenda to build more sustainable and high-quality houses, my energy will be focused on delivering homes for people and places.

“I understand how vital the role of Homes England is to help house our nation, and I am committed to ensuring we do so and to deliver a quality of life everyone deserves.”

Ms Murden, chief operating officer at Lloyds Banking Group, added that she was “looking forward” to joining the board.
