Julian Ashby’s tenure as chair of the Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA’s) Regulation Committee has been extended for a further 18 months.
Mr Ashby, who has chaired the English social housing regulator since it took over regulation from the Tenant Services Authority in 2011, will continue in his role until March 2018. Mr Ashby, who last week wrote to associations over value for money concerns, had been due to stand down in September.
Mr Ashby wrote to the chairs of 350 large associations after an HCA cost analysis showed unexplained cost variations in the sector.
Meanwhile, MPs will tomorrow quiz Sir Edward Lister, ahead of his expected appointment as the new chair of the HCA.
