An interim Housing Ombudsman has been recruited to replace Denise Fowler.
David Connolly will take up the role from next month while a permanent replacement is being recruited.
Mr Connolly is currently assistant ombudsman at the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) where he has worked for over 25 years.
Ms Fowler will be leaving her ombudsman role in June to head up Women’s Pioneer Housing, a specialist housing association in London that houses single women.
Housing minister Gavin Barwell recently pledged to “look again” at the role of the ombudsman after complaints from local MPs and tenants about the quality of new build housing in certain areas.
