Your Housing Group has announced that its interim chief executive is taking the job permanently #UKhousing

Jacque Allen was appointed interim chief executive at the 29,000-home landlord last month, after its long-serving boss, Brian Cronin, announced he was stepping down

Warrington-based YHG confirmed today that Ms Allen, who was YHG’s deputy chief executive previously, is taking the top job on a permanent basis with immediate effect.

Mr Cronin had served at the organisation now known as YHG for 25 years through several mergers.

Ms Allen has worked in the social housing sector for more than 29 years.

She joined YHG, which owns and manages homes across the North West, Yorkshire and the north Midlands, as chief operating officer in April 2020 and was appointed deputy chief executive a year later.

Ms Allen previously served as director of housing at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and group director of housing and neighbourhoods at Acclaim Housing Group.

Richard Groome, YHG’s chair, said Ms Allen is an “exceptional leader, who is both driven and compassionate”.

“She is highly regarded in the sector and across our organisation. I have no doubt that she is the right person to lead Your Housing Group into this next phase,” he added.

Ms Allen said: “I am looking forward to building on some of the great work our team has already delivered and ensure we are best placed to meet the many economic challenges we face as a sector and beyond, to ensure customers’ needs remain our priority.”
