England’s social housing regulator has confirmed its gradings for 16 housing associations #UKhousing

In strapline judgements published today, the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) confirmed G1/V1 gradings – the highest possible – for four landlords following in-depth assessments (IDAs).

These were Johnnie Johnson Housing Trust, Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association, Saxon Weald and 34,000-home North East provider Thirteen Housing Group.

The remaining 12 judgements follow less rigorous stability checks, conducted by the regulator annually on a routine basis.

Seven of these – B3 Living, Citizen Housing Group, Halton Housing, Pickering and Ferens Homes, The Pioneer Housing and Community Group, Plus Dane Housing and Railway Housing Association – are graded G1/V1.

Hyde Housing Association, East End Homes and Mount Green Housing Association are graded G1/V2 – indicating compliance with the RSH’s financial viability standard but a need to manage “material risks” to ensure that remains the case.

Small London-based landlord Inquilab Housing Association is graded G2/V1 – indicating compliance with governance standards but with a requirement to improve some aspects.

Nehemiah United Churches Housing Association, based in the West Midlands, is graded G2/V2.

Earlier this month, the RSH announced it will publish weekly regulatory judgements for providers which have been subject to a stability check until February, to deal with the high volume of judgements at this time of year.

It will continue to publish narrative judgements coming out of IDAs or reactive engagement on the last Wednesday of each month, while those arising from enforcement action will remain published on an ad hoc basis.
