Your Housing Group drops Derwent & Solway in restructure

Cumbria-based landlord Derwent & Solway has left the group, bringing Your Housing Group’s number of homes to around 28,300.

The move follows a de-merger with Leasowe Community Homes earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Derwent & Solway has merged with Two Castles to form 7,000-home landlord Castles & Coasts, after getting the green light to break away in March.

Your Headrow, Your Eaves Brook, Your Moorlands, Your Partington, Your Tung Sing, and Manchester & District have been rolled into one legal entity, Your Housing Limited, which will operate under Your Housing Group as the parent organisation.

It will retain Frontis Limited and Ascent as subsidiaries.

Brian Cronin, chief executive of Your Housing Group, said: “We are simplifying our corporate and governance structures to enable us to provide more homes and provide quality services that our customers need, while managing costs in these challenging times.

“In addition to the restructure, part of our current divestment programme includes a review of all areas, looking at the size of our presence and the available resource in those areas.”

Further, smaller-scale sales are planned as Your Housing Group attempts to free-up liquidity for development.
The group’s board will not change as part of the restructure.

Your Housing Group was formed through a merger between Harvest Housing Group and Arena Housing Group in 2012.
