Eighteen housing associations in Scotland have joined the pilot of a ‘Sector Scorecard’ which was recently launched in England with government backing.

This includes the Haymarket Group, a group of 10 housing associations committed to sharing performance information.

The scorecard will measure exactly the same 15 indicators as the English scorecard, which is being led by Mark Henderson, chief executive of Home Group, and has already drawn in more than 240 associations.

These indicators range from business health measures such as an association’s operating margin to outcome-related indicators like customer satisfaction.

Kevin Scarlett, chief executive of River Clyde Homes and chair of the Haymarket Group, said: “We recognise the crucial importance of demonstrating efficiency to our customers, lenders and other stakeholders. A key way of doing this is through benchmarking and the pilot scorecard will help us on our journey to do this by providing real insight into our businesses.”
