Housing delivery agency brings in Mark Gray as chief risk officer #ukhousing

The housing delivery agency has brought in Mark Gray as its chief risk officer. He will be in charge of the team that manages the body’s financial risk.

Mr Gray will also lead on the implementation and maintenance of Homes England’s risk management framework on existing and future programmes.

He spent more than five years with the British Bank. Prior to this, he worked in investment banking for the Banque Nationale de Paris, the Swiss Bank Corporation, Credit Suisse First Boston and Morgan Stanley.

He also spent time in the financial services sector for Shawbrook Bank and General Motors Acceptance Corporation.

Mr Gray is the latest high-profile hire made by Homes England, which was officially created last January, as it attempts to bolster its numbers.

Homes England currently employs about 750 people but it plans to double its headcount in the next 18 months.

In October, the organisation brought in Brian Robson, former acting head of policy and research at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, to lead its engagement team.

Nick Walkley, chief executive of Homes England, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Mark as he takes up this vital role within the organisation. He brings with him a wealth of experience of working with partners to help increase and unlock resources – a mission that very much chimes with that of Homes England.

“As chief risk officer, Mark will have responsibility for protecting the business through financial risk management, which becomes increasingly important as we increase pace through our funding and delivery programmes.”
