Bexley Council has appointed a new deputy director of housing and strategic planning.
Tanusha Waters will be joining the local authority from Harlow Council in June.
She will oversee housing, planning, regeneration, economic development and environmental health at Bexley.
At Harlow Council, Ms Waters held various senior positions, most recently serving as assistant director of planning and garden town.
She has more than 20 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors.
In 2022, Ms Waters was recognised as one of the top 50 most influential women in planning in the UK.
She said: “I am delighted to be joining such a forward-thinking council. I look forward to contributing to the borough’s future achievements.
“I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Jane Richardson for her exceptional leadership and contributions in this role.
“Her work with the team has laid a strong foundation, and I am grateful for the chance to continue the great work she has started.”
Matthew Norwell, director of place at Bexley Council, said: “The team and I are looking forward to welcoming Tanusha and helping her get settled into Bexley.”
