David Avery has been appointed chair of Affinity Sutton and Circle to oversee the consolidation of the housing associations into Clarion.
Mr Avery replaces Neil Goulden – who has stepped down from this role to become group chair of Clarion – and will oversee the consolidation of the housing associations into the UK’s biggest landlord, Clarion.
Mr Avery currently works with Peabody as chair of their Gallions and CBHA subsidiaries. He will stand down in July.
He also serves as a non-executive director on the board of Gen2 Property, a property services consultancy.
The organisation also appointed Brian Stewart, chief executive of two Scottish local authorities and the East of England Regional Assembly, as deputy chair of Affinity Sutton Housing Association and Circle 33 and Sue Killen, the chief executive of St John Ambulance (SJA), as vice chair of Clarion Housing Group Board and chair of the charitable foundation.
Clare Miller, group director of governance and compliance at Clarion Housing Group, said: “We are delighted with these recent appointments which will form part of a strong and effective governance structure.”
