Vision Modular Systems has handed over two finished blocks in Lambeth, south London, to Pocket Living, which sells exclusively to first-time buyers.

The blocks were built inside a factory in Bedford using production line techniques before being transported to Lambeth. The two blocks on Sail Street and nearby Juxon Street in Lambeth will offer 70 apartments.

The government has recently been pushing for increased use of offsite construction, and intends to promote the practice through its programmes, particularly Accelerated Construction, with £285m committed to offsite in the National Productivity Investment Fund.

Pocket Living and Vision Modular Systems are currently working on Europe’s tallest modular residential tower in Wandsworth, at Mapleton Crescent. The 89-unit development will be spread over 26 storeys and is expected to be finished by early 2018.
