The chief executive of house builder Redrow will step down from his role, as the firm’s tie-up with Barratt is nearly completed.
Matthew Pratt will leave the top job on 30 June, but will remain with the firm until the end of this year.
Mr Pratt steps down from the newly formed Barratt Redrow after the £2.5bn merger between the house builders was signed off by the competition watchdog.
The combined group will have capacity to build “in excess” of 22,000 homes a year and is expected to bring in annual revenue of around £7.5bn.
Mr Pratt said: “It has been a privilege to work alongside such talented and committed colleagues, and I am deeply grateful for their role in shaping Redrow into one of the UK’s leading house builders.
“As we approach the final stages of operational integration, I am immensely proud to have contributed to the coming together of these two exceptional businesses. I wish Barratt Redrow every success as it embarks on this exciting new chapter.”
David Thomas, group chief executive of Barratt Redrow, said: “Following a successful 22-year career at Redrow plc, including five years as CEO prior to the combination, Matthew has had a key role in the smooth and effective integration of Barratt and Redrow. I would like to thank him for his valuable contribution to the combined business.”
The house builder has also appointed Mike Roberts as chief operating officer (COO).
Mr Roberts will join from his current position as managing director of Barratt Redrow’s northern region in September.
Mr Thomas said: “I am pleased that Mike Roberts has been promoted to the role of COO and will join our executive committee.
“After more than 20 years in multiple senior roles in Barratt, Mike has a comprehensive understanding of what Barratt Redrow needs to do to continue to be the UK’s leading home builder and deliver for all our stakeholders.”
Other board changes at Barratt Redrow include deputy chief executive Steve Boyes retiring in September.
The executive directors on the board from that point will be Mr Thomas and Mike Scott, the chief financial officer.
Geeta Nanda, former chief executive of housing association Metropolitan Thames Valley, was appointed as a non-executive director of Barratt Redrow in October.
