Shareholders confirm Notting Hill-Genesis merger #ukhousing

The last shareholder vote on the Notting Hill-Genesis merger has achieved the simple majority it required #ukhousing

The confirmation followed a previous vote by shareholders in favour of the move. The first vote required a two-thirds majority, while the vote to confirm only required a simple majority.

A Genesis spokesperson said: “We are obviously delighted that our own shareholders at Genesis and those at Notting Hill Housing have voted so strongly in favour of the merger proceeding.

“As Notting Hill Genesis, we will have greater capacity and influence to play our part in addressing the housing crisis in London and South East. We will be able to build 400 more homes than we would separately, as well as delivering better-quality, enhanced services to our customers.”

A Notting Hill spokesperson added: “Work continues to prepare our organisations to become Notting Hill Genesis, including ongoing conversations and engagement with our residents, colleagues and funders.

“The boards of both Notting Hill Housing and Genesis feel our proposed merger is an exciting and positive move for residents and colleagues, as well as for London and the South East more widely and are pleased our shareholders feel the same.”
