Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA) has appointed a director at Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) to be its new chief executive.
Pippa Fleetwood-Read joins ISHA from NHG, where she spent the past two years as managing director of operations.
With around seven years’ experience at NHG in several roles, she also held senior positions at the National Housing Federation and L&Q.
The new role will be Ms Fleetwood-Read’s first time in the top job.
ISHA described the new boss as “a respected and dynamic housing professional, with 20 years’ experience providing quality homes and places, reducing homelessness, supporting vulnerable people and empowering communities as both a leader and NED [non-executive director]”.
Ms Fleetwood-Read said: “I am passionate about what can be achieved by residents and effective local associations working together in their communities.
“I’ve always been hugely impressed by ISHA’s strong reputation for local delivery, partnership building and values-led action, and I’m thrilled to be its new chief executive.
“I look forward to leading ISHA’s dedicated and passionate team to build on this strong foundation to further deliver the safe homes, quality places and continuously improving services residents deserve.”
Mervyn Jones, chair at IHSA, said: “We’re delighted Pippa is joining ISHA as our new chief executive.
“She has extensive housing experience and a clear understanding of the sector, including the challenges and opportunities currently facing London-based community housing associations.
“Her values are very much aligned with ISHA’s, and we are excited to work with her to set a clear vision for the future.”
Ms Fleetwood-Read replaces Ruth Davison, who revealed in November 2024 that she would replace Mike Hinch at Newlon Housing Trust this month.
Mr Jones also thanked outgoing Ms Davison for “her dynamic leadership over the past five years that has transformed and professionalised ISHA”.
He added: “Through her values-driven approach, she consistently seeks to raise the bar and challenge assumptions.
“We are extremely proud of the way she has championed building safety for social tenants and feel confident we will see her continue to raise her voice on behalf of residents as chair of the L12 [group of London medium-sized associations] and in her new role at Newlon.”
