Grahame Hindes, chief executive of Octavia, will retire from the 5,000-home organisation in the summer after 18 years heading up the association.

Mr Hindes said it was time for him to “move on to a new adventure”, with the company confirming the recruitment for his successor would begin shortly.

Last August Standard & Poor’s awarded Octavia an A+ rating with a stable outlook, reporting that the company had shown “solid economic fundamentals and robust asset quality”.

The rating for the west London-based association came ahead of a planned £100m bond issue later this year, partly to fund a development pipeline of 1,000 homes over the next five years.

Mr Hindes said: “I strongly believe in Octavia, its mission and its social purpose, and I am hugely grateful to everyone who has supported our growth and mission during my tenure.

“This is a great organisation with a real role today that is no less important than when we first established.”
