The current head of government relations at the University of Glasgow, Mr Bradley previously worked across policy and public affairs at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, a third-sector membership body.

In his current role, he leads public affairs and political engagement and provides strategic advice to the university’s principal and vice-chancellor.

Mr Bradley, who will join the organisation in April, said: “Ensuring that everyone has a safe, warm and affordable home is one of the defining challenges facing Scotland.

“SFHA has worked towards that for many years, and I’m proud to be joining the organisation at this crucial moment to play a part in those efforts.

“Housing associations are vital to Scotland’s communities and economy, from supporting their tenants to building the homes we really need.

“I look forward to returning to familiar ground working with members, and to partnering with others to deliver for people across the country.”

Richard Meade, chief executive at the SFHA, said: “In the midst of a housing emergency and with seismic elections coming up, Scotland’s housing associations have never needed strong advocacy more.

“We’re hugely pleased to have Paul join us and I know he’ll be a strong advocate for our members.”

Mr Bradley succeeded Sally Thomas in September last year. In March, Ms Thomas revealed she would step down after eight years in the top job.
