Ayrshire Housing has appointed a new director of assets and compliance.
Scott Cunningham has been recruited to oversee the landlord’s planned increase in investment in its homes over the next five years.
He joins from the West of Scotland Housing Association, where his previous roles included working on retrofitting homes with infrared wallpaper.
This method heats mass instead of the air, meaning it warms people instead of the air around them, which can play a part in reducing household bills.
Mr Cunningham said that he is “absolutely delighted to be joining Ayrshire Housing”.
He added: “This is an exciting time for us and I want help to build on the existing high level of service delivery and keep our tenants at the heart of everything we do.”
The additional compliance element of Mr Cunningham’s new role will be to ensure the association meets all of its health and safety obligations.
He said: “I look forward to starting my new role, especially working with the existing high-performing staff on a wide range of exciting objectives within our business plan.”
The £11.4m investment package, laid out in Ayrshire Housing’s business plan 2030, is set to improve existing homes and build 91 new properties across rural areas and urban centres over the next five years, including in Ayr, Maybole, Coylton and Kirkmichael.
The plan will also convert 50 properties into social rental homes.
This appointment follows Ayrshire Housing naming Emma Robertson as its finance director. She joined in February from her previous role as chief financial officer at Connect Modular.
Lesley-Anne Junner, chief executive of Ayrshire Housing, said: “As we start the roll-out of our new business plan 2030, Scott’s experience at managing groundbreaking projects, helping to bring the latest technology into homes to make them as efficient as possible, will be a huge asset. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team.
“The agenda to make homes as efficient as possible has never been more pressing and with Scott’s expertise, we will be utilising a full range of new technologies to achieve this in both retrofit work and new build homes.”
Ayrshire Housing was established in 2003 through the merger of Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes. It has since grown to manage 1,700 homes.
